Chancellor Javier Reyes
UMass Amherst’s 12th chancellor, Javier Reyes, assumed the role on July 1, 2023. He has devoted his career to the cause of public higher education. Leading the university’s remarkable upward trajectory, his vision for a transformative educational experience for all students includes academic and cultural enrichment, empowerment, and success that benefits the commonwealth and beyond.
